Amy Amatya is an instrumentalist, string arranger, and composer from and based in LA.

She began piano lessons at three and violin at eight. By 16, she had performed at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, Peacock Theater, and Grand Ole Opry.

These days, she primarily works with artists, such as: Khatumu, Devon Again, callmestevieray, Jesus Molina, Tru, Corook, and more. She plays and improvises live, records in-studio, and arranges/records remotely.

Amy has experience scoring to picture and especially enjoys collaborating with animators. She is currently helping transcribe and arrange an opera for the English National Ballet. She will be away on tour for much of this fall and winter.

In her free time, she self-produces dark cinematic folk music as “Kaigara,” and instrumental music for flow/contemplation as “Amy Amatya.” Her perspective and taste are heavily influenced by a background in climate science and environmental writing.
