Amy Amatya

Amy Amatya is a composer, string arranger, and violinist from Los Angeles.

With a sharp ear and expressive playing style, Amy does live performances, studio sessions, string arrangement, film/game scoring, and produces her own artist project. She combines her foundation in classical orchestral music with a passion for environmental storytelling to build haunting yet beautiful soundscapes.

She began piano lessons at three and violin at eight. By 17, she had already played the Disney Concert Hall, Peacock Theater, and Grand Ole Opry; won local solo competitions; toured abroad with chamber ensembles; gigged corporate events and weddings around LA; and performed with Lindsey Stirling and Weird Al.

Amy continues to play violin for artists, but has since expanded into music production, composition, and guitar. Her guitar work combines classical fingerstyle with metal influences. Her live performances consist of looped improvisational guitar with violin. She can play nearly anything by ear on both violin and piano.

With two ongoing solo projects, she releases dark cinematic folk music as Kaigara, and instrumental music as Amy Amatya.

She holds a bachelors degree in earth science and used to work in climate science communication.
